PACESETTERS REPORT

V

IKINGS
According to the Encarta dictionary and Merriam Webster’s collegiate dictionary a Viking is a member of a Scandinavian people who carried out seaborne raids of north Western Europe between the 8th and 11th centuries ad, often settling in the areas they invaded, as in Britain. They usually came in long ships and raided mainly coastal regions. That is the old Viking.

This is the Viking of the 21st century.
The female soccer team
The female soccer team played in the highly competitive 2011 inter-hall female soccer competition. The fiery Vikings lost match after match totalling four straight defeats therefore finishing the competition at the bottom of the table.
The male soccer team
The ongoing inter-hall soccer league has seen wonderful football from the team who are currently in a three match unbeaten run and lying in the third position on the league table.
The female handball team
They are the comfortable winners of their competition who fought hard against Akuafo Hall to seal their first place position.
The male handball team
The Vikings came third in this competition, only defeating the Vandals in the opening match.
The female basketball team
This competition starts today and all The Pacesetters are waiting to see their hall in action.
The male basketball team
The Vikings are carrying out raids on the basket ball and are in second place after winning all their matches in the ongoing basketball league.

There is more work to be done by the gallant sportsmen and women of the Mensah Sarbah Hall since the inter-hall sports competition continues.  The presence of the supporters at the match venues truly represents Vikings on a raid.
