VICTORY FOR BIG - WIGS AS SECOND ROUND OF UG INTER HALL SOCCER LEAGUE COMMENCE.

Leaders Commonwealth hall, second place Akuafo Hall and defending champions legon Hall all recorded victories in the second round of the University of Ghana inter hall soccer league which begun yesterday.

Fourth on the log, Legon Hall obviously had the most difficult task on the day going up against third place team James Top Nelson Yankah Hall, a side they lost against in the first round. The premier hall made their intentions very clear coming into the second round with talks of winning every single game to ensure they clinch one of the two places up for grabs to qualify for the top four. The message around their camp, and on the day they did not fail to live up to expectations. An early second half goal from midfielder Caleb Awuku was enough to ensure the  Legonites ended the day just a point away from third place and also keep their hopes of playing in the top four alive.

Elsewhere on the main soccer field in a game of two halves, Akuafo hall put in a spirited second half performance to snatch the three points from Hilla Limman Hall after an own goal early in the first half by Amos Gyan gave Limann the lead. A  goal from top scorer Seth Awudi  sandwiched by a brace from Ernest Mwinbong ensured the farmers went home victors and still keep the pace with Commonwealth Hall at the top of the table themselves comfortably dispatched Elizabeth Frances Sey hall by two goals to nothing to maintain their four point lead at the summit of the table.

In the bottom of the table clash, Bani Hall beat United Nations (Evandy Hall) by two goals to nothing to leap frog them onto 7th on the log. Both sides had record just three points between them going into the game and had considered 34 goals between them in just seven games hence goals were expected in the game and two goals were recorded.
