COMMONWEALTH HALL REFUSES TO FALL WHILE EVANDY BEGINS TO RISE IN UG INTER HALL SOCCER LEAGUE.

Commonwealth hall recorded their eight win of the University of Ghana inter hall soccer league after beating defending champions Legon hall 2-0 while United Nations hall (EVANDY) secured their first win of the season with a 3-1 win over Hilla Limann hall in match day 2.

After 9 match days in the University of Ghana inter hall soccer league, Commonwealth hall is yet to drop all 3 points.
Despite sharing the spoils in their goalless game against 2nd placed Akuafo hall in the first round of the league, the vandals have been unstoppable winning 8 games with just one draw.
Match day 2 of the second round saw the vandals continue with their purple patch form after defeating the defending champions Legon hall by 2 unanswered goals.
A splendid free kick from midfielder Asuku Ibrahim gave the vandals the lead with 10 minutes to end the first half. After the recess, they continued with their charming game which was rewarded with a second goal after Dennis Adevu bounced on a loose ball and slotted it into the top right corner of the net.
The win came as a big boost to Commonwealth hall’s title winning ambitions, but worsened the chances of Legon hall’s title defence.
The premier hall lie fourth on the log of group B with 12 points adrift leaders commonwealth hall and will take them a miracle to stand any chance of qualifying as one of the top two teams to progress from the group into the top 4 competition.



More spice was added to the surprise package of group B as United Nations hall (EVANDY) secured their first win of the University of Ghana 2013/2014 inter hall soccer league after beating 5th place Dr. Hilla Limann hall by 3 goals to 1.
After losing 6 matches and drawing 2, bottom placed Evandy, finally got their game right by securing the maximum points from a game this season.


Elsewhere, dethroned champions Akuafo hall also continued with their impressive run of form after sending the lads from Elizabeth sey hall packing with a 4-2 thumping.
Captain Saed Sidik, Shaibu Abubakar, Ernest Mwingbong and Abdul Moomin got a goal each for the farmers while captain of Elizabeth sey hall Emmanuel Nyarko scored twice to console his teammates.


Third placed James Topp Nelson Yankah hall (TF) allowed the gap between them and second placed Akuafo hall to be widened to six points difference after failing to pick up the maximum points against seventh placed Bani hall.
Their dream of finishing amongst the top two teams in the group is still theirs to decide.


The intriguing story in group A also continued over the weekend as debutants from the distance Education Unit kept the chase on leaders Mensah Sarbah hall.
The distance team went into their first match of the second round against a stubborn GRASAG side knowing a win will ensure they keep up with their 2nd place position in the group and also boost their chances of making it into the top 4 competition.
Thanks to Captain Wilson Awuah and George Okinteye who scored a goal each to secure the maximum points.


Group A leaders Mensah Sarbah hall also opened the second round with a 4-1 thrashing of bottom rocked Jubilee hall, the whipping boys of group A.


The International Student’s Hostel (ISH) also made their intensions of a top two finish known by seeing off Alexander Kwapong hall with a 4-2 victory.
The win sends ISH to third on the log and three points behind leaders Sarbah hall.


Jean Nelson Aka hall also managed a 2-1 win over African Union hall to maintain their 5th place on the standings while denying the lads from Pentagon any chance of lifting themselves from the bottom three teams.  

It's early days yet, but the men have already been separated from the boys in the exhilarating UG inter hall soccer league.

Commonwealth Hall shows their strength, refusing to be defeated in the inter hall soccer league. Meanwhile, Evandy Hall is starting to find their form and rise up the ranks.
