BILD Goes to the Central, Ashanti and Eastern Regions

The Beckwith International Leadership Development (BILD) programme was established in 2008 to provide resources and build relationships that enable countries to develop sustainable national centres for leadership development (NCLD), which use sports to touch the lives of young people and adults. The programme is embedded in Tanzania and has now moved to Ghana since 2009.

BILD organised its first incountry local tutors training in May where Ghanaian Lead Trainers trained the Local Tutors from the Central and Ashanti Regions. A number of twenty local tutors were trained altogether. The local tutors continued the second stage by tutoring sixty eight young leaders who organised wonderful festivals for the little leaders. All participants were overjoyed at the knowledge gained from participating in the BILD training programme.
The local tutors were given the responsibility to supervise the BILD Clubs in their schools.

International Development through Excellence and Leadership in Sports [IDEALS 2012] in partnership with BILD has started two BILD clubs in the Eastern Region. The just ended young leaders training was organised for sixty six young leaders. The training gave them the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and qualities and to interact with the IDEALS students. The School Heads of St. Roses and Oyoko Methodist SHS were very supportive in the organisation of the training.
