Handballers Shake The Competition

The handball team on 07-01-2012 played against the host Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST)  in their first match.  I must say KNUST was no match for our handball ladies. The UG ladies were slapped, kicked, pushed and at some point wrestled by their more aggressive opponents. May be taekwondo, kick boxing  and wrestling should be added to GUSA games, i foresee great talents there for mother Ghana. The UG coach was shown an unfortunate red card while complaining about the injuries his players were sustaining as a result of the aggressive play by the opposing team. The ladies however went on to beat KNUST.

 The handball men played without their coach and proved their superiority by winning their game against the University of Cape Coast (UCC). Among their supporters were Prof. Matilda Steiner-Asiedu, Dr. Akalingpare, Coach Timothy Mensah and Coach Tahiru Yusif Amuda who cheered the UG team on all the way to the end.
