Basketball League: Rules and Regulations

The ru2013-2014 Basketball League are as follows:

2013/14 BASKETBALL LEAGUE

RULES AND REGULATIONS

1.    All teams shall report thirty (30) minutes before the kick-off time indicated on the fixtures.

2.    Any team that fails to comply with rule one (1) shall forfeit the match.

3.    All rules and regulations of FIBA shall apply.

4.    Distribution of points:        Win     -           2 points

Lose   -           1 point

5.    Participation in Basketball League is strictly by affiliation. Registration cards will be inspected before each match. However, spill over players may play for another hall of their choice.

6.    A team shall comprise the following:

12 players, 1 coach, 1 assistant coach, 1 team manager and 1 medic.

7.    Graduating students, who are re-writing, are not qualified to participate in the League.

8.    None resident students may join the hall of their choice.

9.    Protests: All protests shall be submitted in writing to the Technical Committee of the Sports Directorate not later than 24 hours after the match. It should be signed by the hall tutor/sports tutor and the hall sports secretary.

10. Names written on the Team Sheets should correspond to that of the University’s Identity Card which will be inspected before the match.

11. All team sheets must be endorsed by the hall tutor/sports tutor and the sports secretary.

12. All matches will be played on running time of 10 minutes per quarter.
