Mr Emmanuel Asare Kumah, a US based UG Sports Alumnus visited the premises of the Sports Directorate. He met with the Director of Sports Dr. Emmanuel Owusu Ansah, the Principal Coach Anthony Tetteh Opai and the Project Officer Mr. Derrick Charway. He also used the opportunity to donate some plaques and trophies to the Sports Directorate to be used to reward deserving sportsmen and women at the upcoming Vice Chancellor Sports Dinner Award.
The plaques are meant to reward the Male
and Female Basketball MVP (Most Valuable Player), Soccer MVP, Male and Female
Discovery of the year, the best hall sports secretary and the best senior hall
tutor.
In a short statement, Mr Emmanuel Asare
Kumah went back along the memory line when he represented the University at
both National and International competitions. He was a 100m and 200m runner for Legon Hall and the University. He also put emphasis on the importance of
medals and awards as a way of motivating sportsmen and women to strive for
excellence.
Receiving the plaques and awards, Dr.
Emmanuel Owusu-Ansah expressed his profound gratitude whenever an alumnus comes
back to support the goals of the Directorate in achieving a first class
sporting university in Ghana and worldwide. He thanked Mr. Emmanuel Asare kumah
for his dedication to the success of UG Sports and promised to deliver the
awards to the rightful beneficiaries.
