The Handball Alumni team of the University of Ghana, played a friendly match against the current handball school team on Monday 26th December 2011. This game was made possible by Derrick O. Charway to welcome one their own handball brother Storms Menri from the UK. It also served as a platform for the school team to test their strength in preparation for the 22nd GUSA Games in Kumasi from 3rd to 13th January 2012.
The alumni was well represented as both men and women turn up in their numbers to take part in the match. Present were El capitano Capochee Storms, Manager Rahman, Counsellor Charway, The tiger Gideon, Mawuko, Pamplo, El capitano Eric Amegbe, Fred, Sarkodie, Konan, Rachid and many more. The alumni ladies also saw the likes of Dzidzo, Shine, Amanda, Bridget Akobania, Franka, Janet and Lilian Kyei.
The UG Teams made up of Senior Lash, Hafiz, Gatuso, Anees, Superman, Doreen, Eugenia, Bernice, Irene and many others lost to a talented and experienced alumni team.
Both sides(Alumni and UG teams) displayed skills and quality in their various matches as it was a pleasant scene.
The final scores are as follows: UG vs ALUMNI: 34-35 Men
UG vs ALUMNI: 6-16 Women!!!
