The University of Ghana is getting ready to defend their cross country title in the upcoming GUSA (Ghana Universities Sports Association) Cross country Competition scheduled for Tarkwa at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT). The event, scheduled for Saturday 5th November, 2011 will be keenly competed for by athletes from University of Cape Coast (UCC), University of Development Studies (Tamale, UDS), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (Kumasi, KNUST), University of Education (Winneba, UEW), University of Mines and Technology (Tarkwa, UMaT), the Institute of Professional Studies (Legon, IPS) and the defending champions the University of Ghana (Legon).
The UG Cross Country Team is putting in the final preparations before they set off on Thursday 3rd November 2011 under the strict supervision of the athletics Coach Timothy Kwabena Mensah.
