The Vice-chancellor Prof. Ernest Aryeetey this
afternoon addressed the sportsmen and women of the University of Ghana participating in the Ghana University Sports Association games at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology
(KNUST), Kumasi. In his address, the Vice-chancellor expressed how
impressed he was with the performance of the UG team. He said that he
was proud of the sportsmen and women as they make a good name for
the University of Ghana and with their domination in the competition. He
advised students to take sports seriously since their future could be
driven by their involvement in sports. He stressed on the point that
all world class universities participated in sports citing Oxford and
Cambridge universities.
The Vice-chancellor promised GhC 200
per player for any team that wins Gold, GhC 150 for Silver medallists
and GhC 100 for Bronze medallists. He also added that when Team Legon
wins the overall, they would have a party at the VC's lodge.
