Coach Timothy Kwabena Mensah, UG's athletics coach has done it once again in his few months spell at the UG Sports Directorate. First it was an unprecedented crashing win during the University of Ghana-University of Ibadan Bilateral Games (Cross Country, Debate, Volleyball women and Table tennis). And now he has led the UG Cross country team to another win at the GUSA cross country outing in Tarkwa. A certified coach with an IAAF Certificate, he shares the world class university vision of the Vice-Chancellor as his coaching techniques has been of high class so far.
His preparations towards the GUSA tournament was done in many stages. Coach Timo as he is popularly called first evaluated his athletes, did his selection for the Bilateral Games, then made sure he was part of the organizers of the CHASE festival (Commonwealth Hall Sports Entertainment) in which he did more evaluation of possible school team athletes and finally monitored the UG Inter-Halls Cross country. Thus he has used this short time to raise and uphold the quality of athletes in the University of Ghana.
