BADMINTON
The new halls have been
overwhelmed in almost every aspect of the 2011 Inter-hall games. However the news
from the badminton court has been very different. The competition rules
required every hall to play on a team basis. Each team competed in two single
matches and a double then the team with the best out of three matches played proceeded
to the next stage.
In the male division, the Jean
Nelson Akah team comprising Amoako Richard, Ohene Asa Bosompem, Kwami Eyram
Theophilus and Reynolds Offei Kwapong remained unbeatable match after match to
clench the first position. The Alex Kwapong team comprising Owusu Acheampong,
Dzamefe Selorm and Atta Elikem Kofi came in second while the Mensah Sarbah team
with Suglo Ignatius, Amediku Thomas Selorm, Laryea Adjei, Patrick Odartey and Abbey
Ruddy placed third.
In the female division, the
Mensah Sarbah ladies put in wonderful performances to set the pace in this year’s
competition. The pacesetters were represented by Amoah Lydia, Emily Penu,
Jennifer Obirih-Opare and Cleide Dodoo. Akuafo hall ladies came second
represented by Sandra Minlah, Mina Debrah, Josphine Yankey, Yvonne Adjadi and
Obi Asante Barbara. Amoah Joyce, Selasi Woanyah and Cynthia Gashika from Legon
hall placed third.

Attah Elikem Kofi of
Alexander Adu Kwapong hall was the new impressive talent of the 2011 Badminton
competition.
